A couple of months ago Tim Dobson told me about an amazing WordPress agency, properly world class, who were looking for a business development person. Having just left exactly that kind of role at Clearleft, I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to try it again, so I did. It so nearly worked out at Clearleft that another try seemed scary and yet the only rational thing to do. So after seven amazing weeks of a trial, and a few other freelance adventures, I’m back in harness and with an incredible team here at Human Made!
As of Monday just gone I am an official Human – part of the global family of amazing developers and project managers who deliver proper enterprise level websites on the most popular CMS on the planet. It’s a fantastically exciting time to be joining the WordPress community – the API seems likely to be integrated with core within months, and with that a massive range of ways to use the system will open up. In the US the media industry has swarmed to the platform, and europe seems to be following suit. An here I am with the mandate to ensure that this team does the best work for the best clients – about as good a gig as it gets.
Plus, I get to do this from Eastbourne, which is a fantastic place to raise our family, and just near enough to the bright lights and big city (and handy airport) to get me anywhere I need to be without sacrificing family time.
As it goes, I am very happy. Very happy indeed.
Thanks Tim.
